Buffy the Vampire Slayer :: Xbox Game Review

Dec 27, 2006

You've watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer on TV for years now as she stakes vampires, defends Sunnydale and dates dead guys. Now the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Xbox game let's you take control of Buffy, complete with all of her awesome moves, and fight vampires.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Scooby Gang

Buffy and all her friends - Willow (Alyson Hannigan,) Giles (Anthony Stewart Head,) Xander (Nicholas Brendan,) Angel (David Boreanaz,) Spike (James Marsters) and more are brought to life with crazy Xbox graphics and the voices of the real actors. Everyone except the Buffster (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself that is, she must've been too busy making out with her hubby - Freddie Prinze Jr.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Ghoulishly Good

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's graphics rock and the sound effects are awesome - but Buffy has always been about the story. Luckily the game is no slacker in the story department. The game rips stuff right out of season three of Buffy, including a not-so-friendly Spike, but makes it a whole new adventure. It's like a giant "what if" TV episode, with you in control.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Butt Kicking

Speaking of control - Buffy has the moves! Whether you're a newbie or a hardcore gamer, you'll love how simple it is to get the slayer kicking butt and how many cool moves you can pull off once you get used to the combat. Whether you're scrapping with a big-bad boss or stomping a mob of hungry vampires, the action scenes are a blast.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Bottom Line

The bottom line about Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the Microsoft Xbox is that it slays. The only people who don't like it are snoozing in their sunlight-proof lairs right now. Check it out, kick butt and remember - Halloween is a bad time for anyone but a slayer to be out late...

How Hard Is Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

It'll take you about 30 minutes to learn the controls, then you can pick the difficulty.
