Imagine a world without crime fighters like the police chasing the bad guys. Kidzworld looks at some of todays modern day crime fighters like Sarah Michelle Gellar in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Tom welling in Smallville.

Imagine what the world would be like without any peacekeepers? It's pretty scary to think of what would happen if we didn't have any police or FBI chasing down bad guys. Some crime fighters have special powers like Superman while others rely on quick wit and gadgets like James Bond. Here's a look at some modern day TV crime fighters.

1Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Scooby Gang have always got their hands full fighting vampires and demons in Sunnydale. Even though Sarah Michelle Gellar is small, Buffy kicks some serious butt with the help of her pals who use witchcraft and smarts to slay demons. Catch the Buffy gang Tuesday nights on UPN.

1 Dark Angel

Max (Jessica Alba) is a genetically enhanced human prototype searching for others just like her in the future. With the help of her friend, cyber-journalist, Logan Cale (Michael Weatherly) she battles the corrupt government, who is always on her trail. Like Buffy, Max has superhuman strength, and her small size doesn't stop her for a second. Watch Dark Angel Fridays on Fox.

1Alias

Is it just me or does the recent trend seem to be female butt-kickers? It's about time there are more female crime fighters on TV! 2002 Golden Globe winner, Jennifer Garner plays Sydney Bristow, a double-agent whose counter-espionage activities focus on the SD-6. Check out this hot, new crime fighter Sunday nights on ABC.

1Smallville

Tom Welling plays Clark Kent as a young, awkward teenager. His Superman powers are emerging but he hasn't experienced their full potential yet. Clark Kent is actually friends with Lex Luthor right now and has no idea that their destinies will change. He does know that kryptonite makes his knees weak already. The story of a superhero growing up airs Tuesdays on the WB network.

Who's your fave crime fighter and why? Is it one of the above or is it a comic book hero or even Indiana Jones? Tell us!
