Xbox Madness and the IGDA wants YOU!

Dec 27, 2006

Microsoft's Xbox is going crazy with their big launch in Japan, a new controller and Jedi Knights are coming soon! Here's what's going down...

The Xbox hit Japan on February 22, 2002 with 250,000 consoles. 125,000 of them were gone within two weeks. Then people found a problem. The Japanese Xbox could scratch your discs! It only affected a few systems and it only scratched the edges but it still sucked. Thousands of Xboxs were shipped back to Big Bill for repairs.

That's bad news for Japanese gamers. But there is some good news - if you're a gamer with itty-bitty hands. The gigantic Xbox controller is getting a lil bro to hang with. The Controller S is designed for people with smaller hands and it'll be out on April 30, 2002 for $39.99 US ($60 Cdn.)

If that's not enough...

Lucasarts has given Microsoft the big thumbs up to make Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to the Xbox. This is a hot game from a bunch of Canadian game brainiacs at a company called Bioware. They're a wicked company with a serious rep for good games.

The last bit of news is from the IGDA - International Game Developers Association. They want YOU to make a living creating games. Sweet! They're going to schools and letting everyone know how to get into the biz, make games and get your share of the $9 billion dollars people spend on games in the USA alone.
