Sindy: If you weren't a singer or an actress, what would you be doing?
Ashlee Simpson: Well, I love make-up and I love clothes. So I probably would have gone to school for something like that. Maybe been a stylist or done make-up. I would love to like create a look for somebody. I'm really good at doing make-up.
Sindy: How would you describe your fashion style? Has it changed?
Ashlee Simpson: My fashion style always kind of changes. I'm always just one of those more laid back people. Like I like tennis shoes - I'll wear the heels but I really like tennis shoes. I love to be cute but I really like to be comfortable.
Sindy: I like to be comfortable too! What would you say are some of your most memorable highlights of your career?
Ashlee Simpson: The first time I played a show and people were singing Pieces of Me, that was pretty amazing. Of course being on 7th Heaven, that was pretty awesome and my albums coming out and doing well. That was a pretty amazing feeling. The coolest part of my career is playing shows and getting to see my fans every night, singing the songs. That's definitely the highlight of it.
Sindy: Is there anything about the entertainment industry that really shocks you?
Ashlee Simpson: No, not really. I'm not really someone who gets shocked by too much.
Sindy: I read that you and Ryan Cabrera are still really good friends. Is that true?
Ashlee Simpson: Yeah. You know, we were friends before we dated so we are definitely still friends. And whenever we get the chance to talk to each other we always call to say hi.
Sindy: So, do you have a new guy in your life?
Ashlee Simpson: Well, I'm dating. You know, I'm 21. I'm just having fun.
Sindy: What qualities do you look for in a boyfriend?
Ashlee Simpson: I like guys who like music. I just find that really sexy. And they are nice and not full of themselves. And they have to make me laugh. That's the most important thing.
Sindy: I wanted to wish you a happy belated birthday. What was the best gift that you got this year?
Ashlee Simpson: I got this watch from my sister, it was a Rolex. It was amazing.
Sindy: Oh that's cool. So what made you decide to go back to being a blonde?
Ashlee Simpson: I don't know. I've always had blonde hair and I guess I just wanted to go back. I would look at pictures of me as a blonde, as a kid. And I was like, I want my blonde hair back.
Sindy: So who has more fun? Blondes or brunettes?
Ashlee Simpson: You know, I think both. I had a blast having dark hair and I'm sure I'll have it again one day. I think it's just where you're at.
Sindy: Do you think you'll experiment with other colors?
Ashlee Simpson: Yeah, I would love to. I was just talking about how much fun it would be to dye my hair red.
Sindy: You just came off of a mini-tour to promote the new album but will you be headed back out on a bigger tour in the new year?
Ashlee Simpson: Yes. Absolutely. I think I'll be going on a bigger tour starting in March 2006.
Sindy: Do you have a favorite item of clothing that you take with you on tour?
Ashlee Simpson: I end up wearing sweats every day on tour. I also like to have my best jeans and my best sweaters.
Sindy: What's your fave food?
Ashlee Simpson: I like these cereal bars that I eat on tour everyday. They're really good.
Sindy: What's your favorite movie?
Ashlee Simpson: Last night we were watching Edward Scissorhands but my favorite movie is Napoleon Dynomite.
Sindy: What's your favorite thing to do with friends when you're not working?
Ashlee Simpson: I just got a house so it's really fun when we just have dinner parties. I don't have that much furniture in the house yet but it's fun.
Sindy: Aside from the tour, what's up next for you?
Ashlee Simpson: I need to shoot my video for L.O.V.E., I'm going to Japan and then I'm taking Christmas break!
Sindy: Cool, do you have any special Christmas plans?
Ashlee Simpson: I'm going to spend Christmas with my family and then go on vacation with my friends for New Years.
