The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask Coming to 3DS

Nov 07, 2014

Nintendo kept its cards close to their chest this time. Fans have been clamoring for a re-release of The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask on 3DS basically since the day Ocarina of Time for 3DS launched.

Well, all you Zelda fans can rest easy now. Majora's Mask for 3DS has officially been announced during Nintendo's latest Nintendo Direct and it's coming Spring 2015. You can watch the Nintendo Direct announcement below.

Nintendo Direct 11.5.2014

The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask was originally released on the Nintendo 64 back in October of 2000 and is a more somber tale than what had come before in Ocarina Of Time. Majora's Mask takes place in Termina, a darker version of Hyrule. There, a character named Skull Kid has stolen Majora's Mask, a mysterious and powerful relic of the past.

With the power of the Majora's Mask, Skull Kid causes the moon to start falling towards Termina. It's up to Link to save the day and stop the moon from crashing to the ground and obliterating everything in its way.

The game runs on a repeating 3 day cycle. There's always this feeling of urgency as you race the clock. Link is also able to adorn different masks of his own, which grant him new powers including the ability to change into different characters.

Link recently made an appearance on Wii U in the form of Hyrule Warriors and let's not forget the incredible The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for 3DS. But it's always nice to revisit a classic. And those that missed The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask when it originally came out now have the opportunity to experience one of Nintendo 64's best games and arguably, one of the best Zelda adventures ever.
