This week on The Vampire Diaries (Season 4, Episode 17), Damon and Elena hit the Big Apple. Read Kidzworld’s recap of “Because the Night”, which aired March 21st, 2013, to find out what you missed.
The Big Apple
Damon and Elena have reached New York, and we find out that Damon has a mission to accomplish. He has a friend in the city who used to help vampires create fake identities. In the past, he had worked with Katherine. Damon thinks there might be some useful information to help track down Katherine and the vampire cure.
But, Elena is not into the plan. Ever since Damon took her humanity away, she has been completely heartless. She says she doesn’t want to take the cure – she wants to stay a vampire. But, she doesn’t want anyone else to have it either. Lucky for her, Rebekah makes an appearance in New York and the two girls join forces to steal the information about Katherine from Damon.
Brainwashed
In a complete surprise, it appears that Bonnie has been brainwashed by Silas into helping him complete the triangle. Remember, Silas and Shane promised Bonnie she would see Jeremy and her grandmother again if she helped. Now we find out that in order to complete the triangle, 12 witches need to die. Using her sneaky ways, she asks a group of witches to help her perform a cleansing spell.
The Triangle
Of course, Stefan shows up just in time to save the day. He tells the witches that they are being used and that Bonnie and Silas want to kill them. The lead witch retaliates by pulling out a knife and lunging towards Bonnie. But, before she does that Caroline steps in and kills her. Since all of the witches were linked, they all die. Unfortunately, this completes the triangle.
