Monster
Now that Elena’s humanity has been turned off, she is in full vampire mode. She is using Damon and Stefan’s old tricks to lure in bait (ie. Pretending to lay dead on the side of the road, etc). Damon shows up and tells Elena she should show some restraint, but she hardly listens. Does this mean the sire bond isn’t all powerful? Turns out his hold over her doesn’t work now the she has no humanity.
Stefan, Damon and Caroline try to come up with a plan to calm down Elena. They decide it would be best for her to continue on like things are normal. That is, go back to school. While Stefan and Caroline supervise Elena, Damon goes off to try to hunt down Katherine, who stole the magic cure. He runs into Rebekah, and the two decide to work together. Klaus is also still on the hunt of the vampire cure. Assuming Hayley might have some insider knowledge into Katherine’s whereabouts, he tries to sweet talk her into sharing.
Cheerleader
Back at school, Elena decides she wants to be a cheerleader again. Caroline reluctantly agrees, but isn’t so confident that Elena should be on the team. Of course, it doesn’t end well. Elena feeds on one of the other cheerleaders and makes a wrong move that causes Caroline to mess up during a performance. No one is impressed. They take Elena back to the brothers’ place, but she gets upset when she sees Stefan and Caroline dancing. Elena retaliates by hurting Caroline’s mom. She is not impressed. Damon takes Elena on a road trip to New York and Stefan consoles Caroline. Is this the beginning of a new relationship?
