This week on the Vampire Diaries (Season 4, Episode 15), we find out Jeremy’s fate. Find out what you missed in this week’s recap of “Stand By Me”, which aired February 21st, 2013.
Dead or Alive?
Last week, the show ended and we didn’t know if Jeremy was alive or dead. This week, we get the answer – Jeremy is dead. Stefan takes Elena back to Mystic Falls and she just about loses it, upset that another person in her life has died. But, she just can’t accept it, and she doesn’t want the town to know how her brother died. She comes up with a scheme to burn down their house, with her brother’s dead body in it.
Katherine
Meanwhile, Damon is still back on the island, trying to find Bonnie. Instead he runs into Rebekah who tells him that Silas is awake and walking around the island. They capture Vaughn and ask him how Katherine knew about the cure and got to the island. Turns out, Katherine found Vaughn in Colorado and he confessed everything he knew about Silas. We still aren’t clear on what Katherine wants the cure for, but we know she is the only one who has it.
Awaken the Dead
When Bonnie awakes, Shane is right next to her and tells her that Silas has healed her stab wounds and his broken leg. Shane tells Bonnie that if she will help Silas, then she might be able to make Jeremy alive again. Shane wants Bonnie to help him kill 12 more people. If she can do this, he promises she will see Jeremy again. But why?
Allegedly, the witch who put Silas in the grave knew that he would try to kill himself to be reunited with his love. To get around this, she created the other side – which is basically an inbetween space for supernaturals. They want Bonnie to bring back all of the supernatural beings who are in this place (which would basically bring back Jeremy, too).
Humanity
All of this is too much to handle for Elena. She goes into a crazy downward spiral. Damon uses his sire bond to turn off her humanity, essentially taking away her pain. Will this change the way she behaves from now on? How will this impact everything?
