Big Names
Like every year, the X Games is going to be filled with all the A-listers in action sports. MTV star Ryan Sheckler, Paul Rodriguez Jr. and Jereme Rogers headline the Skateboarding Street event. Jake Brown will attempt to not get injured this year in the Big Air comp, as he faces guys like Pierre Luc Gagnon, Danny Way and Bucky Lasek. The women's Skateboard Vert features big names such as Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins and Cara-Beth Burnside, while the men's side has Shaun White and Bob Burnquist.Nate Adams headlines the Moto X Best Trick while Dave Mirra is always a favorite in the BMX Freestyle Superpark. Multi sports star Ricky Carmichael will once again be competing in the Moto X Step Up. And make sure to keep an eye on Mike Spinner, who is an up-and-coming star in the BMX Freestyle Superpark.
Additions
This year's games will feature five new pro contests: Moto X Whip, Moto X Speed and Style, Moto X Women's Racing, BMX SuperPark and Skateboard SuperPark. One of the more unusual contests will be the Moto X Speed and Style discipline. This new event is a summer-version of the snowmobile event. Two motorcycle riders will start at the same point but will go in two different courses. One course is the race course, the other is the trick course. After each rider completes both courses, the contest is judged both on the time of the race course and the difficulty of the tricks completed on the trick course. In the BMX SuperPark and Skateboard SuperPark contests, riders will compete on a fast-flowing course modeled after some of the best concrete skateparks. The X Games will also feature two other new contests - The Skateboard SuperPark Adaptive Jam and Moto X Racing Adaptive final. These two events will showcase disabled athletes competing in different action sports.
