Emile Hirsch's career is hitting fifth gear as he stars in Speed Racer on the big screen. Kidzworld takes a look at this young actor.
Cali Kid
Born just a little bit outside Los Angeles, it’s not a big surprise that Emile ended up in show-business. His mom was and artist and teacher, and his dad was a manager, and producer, so it was pretty much a given that Emile would do something creative. Emile began acting around the age of eight and started like most child actors do, playing smaller roles in TV Shows and Movies of the Week like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and NYPD Blue.Working With Some Big Names
As a teen, Emile started landing roles in film, and in 2004, he starred with Elisha Cuthbert in The Girl Next Door, a racy comedy that got him a lot of attention. Building on his reputation as a solid young actor, Emile starred with Heath Ledger in Lords of Dogtown, a popular movie about the birth of skateboarding. Then he really hit the big time as a legitimate actor while playing the bad guy in Alpha Dog, working with Justin Timberlake and Anton Yelchin.Pedal to the Metal
Emile’s career is now on a roll. In 2007, he turned the buzz from Alpha Dog into an award winning performance as Chris McCandless, a young man finding himself in the wilderness, in Into The Wild. Now he’s starring as Speed Racer in the live action film version of the ‘60s anime hit, and it’s by far the biggest budget flick he has ever worked on. With a few projects in the works, it’s safe to say that Emile won’t be slamming on the brakes anytime soon.Did U Know?
