It's time for a skateboarding fix from Sony. Grind Session is all about hitting the skate park and working it. You'll be pulling the biggest moves to the hottest tunes and scoring respect for your skills.
The best thing about CD games is that CDs rock at storing music. Grind Session takes that concept and goes all the way. You'll be blasting along to KRS-One, Black Flag, Sonic Youth and it doesn't stop there. Fire up the game and you can pick out a half dozen bands, all with some serious sonic firepower.
It's not just tunes, Grind Session is packed with serious action. The game is a smooth ride with easy controls to reduce finger contortions. You can pick up the basics in no time and if you're stumped for how to pull a move just slam on the pause button and the list of moves pops right up.
One sweet device is the Possession Meter. It's like the Momentum Meter from NHL 2001, or the adrenaline bar from SSX. If you start hitting a ton of moves your Possession meter builds up and you can unleash some seriously powered up airtime.
Ever want to get next to Cara-Beth Burnside? Well this is as close as you're gonna get without getting busted for stalking. She's one of the available skaters, along with Pigpen, Willy Santos, Daewon Song, John Cardiel and Ed Templeton. If that's not enough, then build your own skater or unlock the hidden skater.
The biggest bummer to this game is the graphics. They're just not up to par. The rest of the game is really sweet though and it's worth checking out.
