What does it take to put on one of the hottest concert tours? For Janet Jackson it means a month of rehearsals twice a day. It's a lot of hard work but she's ready to give it her All For You. It's been a long time since she took her Velvet Rope Tour on the road in 1998. Now she's back with a hot new album, All For You, and a tour that's expected to blow your mind.
Miss Jackson's All For You Tour 2001 is one of hottest shows this summer. For the last month Janet and her entourage have been rehearsing at GM Place in Vancouver, Canada, where the show kicks off on July 25, 2001. The elaborate tour will feature eight dancers and seven musicians as Janet shows off some old faves, as well as, songs from her latest CD All For You. Janet has kept most of the details under wraps cuz she wants to surprise audiences. Judging from previous tours, fans can expect some of the funkiest dance moves that are humanly possible, pyrotechnic explosions, moving stages, video voyages and plenty of costume changes.
Janet's 56-date tour hits Canada and the US finishing the US leg of the tour in Denver, Colorado October 13, 2001. From there the crew will head to Europe to perform 25 shows in 10 countries.
In an interview with ETOnline Janet talks about the production rehearsal in Vancouver. In LA she was rehearsing with her band and dancers separately trying out different things. In the production rehearsals everyone gets together - the dancers and the band and they run through the entire show wearing their costumes.
Putting on a concert is a huge deal - especially when an artist goes all out like Miss Jackson. Once they've put the show together - finalizing the set list and deciding how the show will run, they rehearse twice a day. "The one thing we all have in common is music," says Janet, "and music moves me."
Janet is also doing something very special with her tour. She's donating a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold to the Boys and Girls Club which helps out nearly 3.3 million kidz and teens. The money will go towards education, leadership and arts programs. If there wasn't already enough reasons to love Janet Jackson here's another.
