2007-08 NBA Season Preview
Oct 31, 2007
It's hoops season again! Will the Spurs repeat or is it the Suns' turn? What about the new-look Boston Celtics? Kidzworld has some predictions!
NBA Preview - Eastern Predictions
#1. Boston Celtics - What a difference a year makes. Last year the Celtics were the laughing stock, but this year with the additions of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to compliment Paul Pierce, the C's are now champion contenders.
#2. Detroit Pistons - In the offseason, the Pistons got a lot of young talent like rookie Rodney Stuckey. They should mesh well with Detroit's solid core of veterans.
#3. Cleveland Cavaliers - LeBron did the unthinkable last year by taking the Cavs to the finals. This year it will be tougher, but don't be surprised if they return to the finals again.
#4. New York Knicks - Believe it or not, the Knicks can be this good this year. With the addition of Zach Randolph, the Knicks are one of the best teams on paper. The question is, if they can play together as a team?
The Rest of the Best - The Bulls have a solid team once again and should claim the fifth spot. New Jersey is aging a little bit, but are still good enough to get the sixth seed. Chris Bosh and the up-and-coming Raptors will get the seventh seed, while Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards will steal the final playoff spot. The Orlando Magic are our toughest omission and are fully capable of getting this last playoff spot.
NBA Preview - Western Predictions
#1. Phoenix Suns - It's now or never for Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns. Is Grant Hill that final component to get the boys from Phoenix a ring?
#2. San Antonio Spurs - The defending champs are still going to be one of the league's top teams. But Tim Duncan and Bruce Bowen are getting up there in age.
#3. Utah Jazz - The Jazz surprised everyone last year. Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams are one of the toughest combos in the league. With the loss of Derek Fisher, will somebody step up and fill that big void?
#4. Dallas Mavericks - Dallas is always going to have a tough team, but they are still missing that one piece that can help them overcome the hump.
The Rest of the Best - Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady will help Houston claim the fifth spot. Denver will most likely be the sixth seed. Golden State had a big playoffs last year and should be the seventh seed this year. And Chris Paul should lead his New Orleans Hornets to the eighth and final seed.
NBA Preview - Predictions
Rookie of the Year - Kevin Durant is a stud and with Greg Oden injured, he is the hands down favorite for ROY.
MVP - LeBron James will prove he is the most versatile player in the league by averaging close to a triple double. No question in our minds he'll be the MVP.
NBA Champions - The Phoenix Suns will defeat the Boston Celtics in six games to win the 2008 NBA Championship!
