Jeremy Bloom's mother was a ski instructor, so naturally he picked up skiing at an early age. When Jeremy was 15 years old, he earned a spot on the US Freestyle Ski Team. Ranked as the top men's freestyle skiier in the world at just 19 years old, Jeremy went into the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City as the favorite. Jeremy however, finished a dissapointing ninth. After winning the 2003 and 2005 World Cup Championships, Jeremy got his second chance at a medal at the 2006 Turin Olympic Games. Jeremy Bloom accepted a football scholarship to the University of Colorado. Despite his small frame (5'9", 175 lbs.), Jeremy used his speed to excel as a punt returner and wide receiver. He was regarded as one of the top punt returners in the nation. After his sophomore season, the NCAA ruled him ineligible to play because he had accepted endorsement money for skiing. Although Jeremy fought the ruling, he never played another game for Colorado. Immediately after the 2006 Olympics, Jeremy turned his attention to the NFL.
