What the Jackson’s are to music, the Shaw’s are to snowboarding (minus the weirdness of course). You can bet on hearing about these four talented siblings (Brooke, 15, Spencer, 13, Serena, 11 and Maverick, 8) as they plan to rule the snowboarding world for the next few decades. Without further adieu, let’s introduce the Shaw’s!
The Shaw Family – Brooke Shaw
Regarded as one of the Nation's top young female snowboarders the past few years, Brooke has recently taken her high-flying act to the professional level. Brooke Shaw proved she is ready to go up against the big girls after her incredible performance at last years' USASA Nationals, where she finished first in the Giant Slalom and the Bordercross. She was named a "Next" athlete by Sports Illustrated for Kids. Look for this boardin' sensation in future Winter X Games and the 2010 Winter Olympics. The Shaw Family – Spencer Shaw
Even though Spencer is two years younger than Brooke, he's not too far behind her in accomplishments. Like his older sis, Spencer dominated the USASA Nationals by placing first in the Giant Slalom and second in the Bordercross. In a recent competition in New Zealand, where the majority of his competition were men, Spencer finished an amazing 8th out of 52! Spencer and his sister Brooke were also featured on a Cartoon Network special. There are no signs this 2010 Olympic hopeful is going anywhere but the top!The Shaw Family – Serena Shaw
Out of all the siblings, Serena Shaw is probably the most versatile. She is a world class gymnast as well as a talented dancer. Oh yeah, did we mention she does a little snowboarding too? Whether she decides to be the next Hannah Teter or Carly Patterson, you can count on hearing about Serena in the future! The Shaw Family - Maverick Shaw
Just cuz he's the baby of the group, doesnt mean he can't hang with his older siblings. Maverick Shaw (what a cool name!) is a fan favorite with his amazing tricks and jumps. He can get more height on his jumps than his teenage competition. But to be fair, he has been boardin' since he was two!Related Stories:
