Radio Contest Tragedy
On January 12, 2007, 107.9 The END radio station in Sacremento, California had a "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" contest where people had to drink water every 15 minutes and the last person to pee won a Nintendo Wii. Tragically, one contestant died shortly after the contest. Early reports indicate that she died of water intoxication.Winning a contest is a blast, but always remember to be careful because your body can only handle so much and some contests can be dangerous. Just ask Survivor contestant Michael Skupin, who passed out into a fire and got badly burned, or the people who choke on food in eating contests. No prize is worth risking your life.
