The Nintendo Gameboy has been the #1 portable video game system for 17 years now. It has gone from being a clunky black and white monstrosity to the stylilshly-slim Game Boy Advance SP. Here's our look at the modern Game Boys, starting with 2001's Game Boy Advance!
2001 - The Game Boy Advance

The next generation of Game Boy was the
Game Boy Advance. It was in
full color with
stereo sound and as much computer power as the original
NASA Space Shuttle! It had a
bigger screen,
better graphics and more buttons, but could still play all the old
Game Boy Color games. You could even plug one into your
Gamecube as a controller. Unfortunately, the screen was too dark to see games easily.
2003 - The Game Boy Advance SP

The
Game Boy Advance SP came out only two years after the
Game Boy Advance and it was a huge upgrade! The
flip-top design keeps the screen safe from scratches, it uses a
rechargeable 30-hour
power supply to save $$$ on batteries and, best of all, the screen is backlit so all the
games are easy to see. The
GBA SP quickly came out with different color models for
stylin' gamers and is now the
best handheld gaming system in the world!
2005 - The Game Boy Micro

The smallest
Game Boy ever was released on
October 2, 2005. This
tiny game system is so small you can slip it into your back pocket and forget it's there! It plays
GBA games and has a
super-bright screen to bring your
games to life even brighter than on the
GBA SP. But, the best thing about the
Game Boy Micro is that it comes in
different colors and has
interchangeable faceplates so you can give yours the look you want!
2006 - The Game Boy Advance Goes Pink!

On
March 27, 2006 a new
Game Boy Advance SP was released. This new system has an
upgraded screen and all the power of the normal
GBA SP, but in an awesome
Pearl Pink color! Not only is it a
wickedly stylish accessory that you can take anywhere, it also plays nearly a
thousand video games,
movies and more. For the gamer on the go who wants something that
looks great, the new
Pearl Pink Game Boy Advance SP is the way to go!
