Starring in her own Nickelodeon sitcom, Unfabulous, and releasing her debut album has made Emma one of the fastest rising stars of the year. Find out what she talked to Sindy about - from new projects to celebrity crushes, we've got it!
Sindy: Hi Emma! Congratulations on the new album.
Emma Roberts: Oh thank you so much!
Sindy: So what was it like recording your first CD?
Emma Roberts: It was cool. It was a lot different from what I've been doing but it was definitely a fun and new experience. I was really happy with it and it was cool to see it finally come out and be in stores.
Sindy: Was it a harder process than you thought it would be?
Emma Roberts: Some of the songs were harder to record because it was harder to sing but for the most part it was just a great experience and just what I thought it would be.
Sindy: Who were your musical influences growing up?
Emma Roberts: Michelle Branch, I liked Hilary Duff. I liked everybody really. Skye Sweetnum I like. All those people. The Veronicas are really good, they are my new favorite band, I love them.
Sindy: The Veronicas are a great band. What's your favorite song off the radio right now?
Emma Roberts: Forever by The Veronicas. Lol.
Sindy: Cool. What do you find more challenging - singing or acting?
Emma Roberts: Probably singing. Only because I get more nervous singing than I do acting. You know, acting you're playing a character and stuff but singing, you're presenting yourself as you so it's different.
Sindy: What do you enjoy most about being on your show Unfabulous?
Emma Roberts: It's just so much fun. Everyone, like me and the kids and everyone, all get along and we're all really good friends. Also I get to pick out a lot of my own clothes on the show which is really fun.
Sindy: Do you have a favorite episode that you guys have filmed?
Emma Roberts: I do. I really had a lot of fun filming the episode where Addie directs the school play. It kind of turns into a disaster and she gets stressed out. It's just a really funny episode, I liked it a lot. I had fun.
Sindy: When did you realize that you wanted to pursue acting as a career?
Emma Roberts: I've just always wanted to act. Ever since I was really little I've wanted to do it. But my mom didn't want to get me into it too young. So, it's just been something I've always wanted to do.
Sindy: Who has been your favorite person to work with so far?
Emma Roberts: Ummm, I've worked with so many great people but I really liked Johnny Depp. He is just a really nice guy. He's really great. I would love to work with him again in the future.
Sindy: Who is an actor that you haven't been able to work with but you would like to?
Emma Roberts: I really want to work with Reese Witherspoon, I really like her.
Sindy: Would you ever consider working with your aunt, Julia Roberts?
Emma Roberts: Yeah, I mean I think that would be a fun thing to do. But, we're both like, really busy right now.
