Aug 28, 2020The newest game in the Ratchet & Clank series is looking to be one of the most impressive titles on its way to PlayStation 5. For fans who wanted to see more, a brand new unedited gameplay demo has aired showing off the gorgeous environments, new weapons, and always fun gameplay that Insomniac Games is known for. After Spider-Man, the upcoming Miles Morales and now Rift Apart, Insomniac is looking to create some of the biggest games you can play on the PS5.

The DualSense
One of the coolest things about the demo that viewers can't quite see is how the game uses the brand new DualSense controller's new features. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers make the game even more immersive, bringing your hands closer to the action. Weapons fire differently depending on how hard you push down on the trigger:
"Take the Enforcer for example. This double barrel shotgun has multiple fire modes. Pull the trigger halfway and it fires a single shot. Squeeze passed the first stage and you will unload a double barrel blast instead!" -PlayStation Blog
It was previously reported that you couldn't take your current PS4 controllers into PS5 games, and features like this are why. The next-gen games are going to use the new technology to enhance games in ways that were not possible before.

When is it Coming Out?
Luckily, once the PS5 finally releases, fans won't have to wait too long to get their hands on Rift Apart. The game is dropping within the PS5's "launch window" which means it will come shortly after the console itself.
The new game takes Ratchet and Clank across the multiverse.
