The first three dogs ever to achieve the AKC Obedience Champion title were Golden Retrievers.

  • Goldens don’t have much of a “bite.”  They love to put stuff in their mouths, but when it comes to people, they’re known to be especially gentle.  This comes from their history of picking up and carrying game in their mouths without damaging it.  It’s said they can hold a raw egg in their mouths without breaking it.
