Nintendo is arguably the most beloved company in the world of video gaming, so all eyes are on them whenever they have something to say. This E3 has been pretty predictable from much of the competition but Nintendo managed to keep cranking out the surprises. Dragon Quest Heroes Come to Super Smash Bros Ultimate... and More
Things kicked off with some of that very beloved Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news and we got our first look at this Summer's DLC Fighter who was simply called "The Hero" in this trailer. That character, commonly called the Luminary in Dragon Quest XI, wasn't the only skin we'd be fighting in for this latest update. You can swap into the skin of other Dragon Quest characters from far older games in the long-running franchise.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Banjo-Kazooie E3 Reveal
Of course, that won't be the Smash Bros reveal that gets the most attention. Jumping ahead a ways, the Nintendo Direct ended with the announcement that Banjo and Kazooie would be joining the fight. Fans of retro games may remember these cute characters from their titular Banjo-Kazooie games on the Nintendo 64. Alongside their classic moveset being brought into the game, their home of Spiral Mountain appears to be a brand new stage to select from. Dragon Quest characters were confirmed for sometime in Summer 2019 while Banjo and Kazooie are set to appear sometime this fall.
Checking In on Luigi's Mansion 3
Luigi is no stranger to hunting ghosts in haunted mansions but this E3 trailer revealed a deeper look at the next location we'll be fighting phantoms in. Heading to a giant hotel with multiple Mario-characters, Luigi is bringing some new moves into his latest adventure. Slamming ghosts, the return of Gooigi from the 3DS remake of the original, and tons of charming Nintendo-scares mean that this game will be on our radar for a little while -- at least until it releases sometime later this year. Check out their trailer here.

This Nintendo Direct also showed off an unexpected new mode where you'll be building your own challenging Zelda dungeouns. While we initially knew that the game was coming at some undetermined date in 2019, this trailer concluded with the news that we'd be playing the game for ourselves September 20th, 2019.

Breath of the Wild 2 is coming
Details are light but this is likely the biggest reveal of the entire Nintendo Direct. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was a launch title on the Nintendo Switch and one of the best games on the system. This mysterious trailer showed a return to the map of the previous game but things look far more dangerous for Link and Zelda. Take a look at the footage for yourself!
