Nintendo wasn't the only company dropping some big news through the week, though it's hard to get much bigger than a new Super Smash Bros. Fortnite, the biggest free-to-play game in the world, is about to get much bigger and Call of Duty's new sequel has been announced with more info incoming.
Fortnite Goes Mobile
Fortnite Battle Royale isn't pleased with just being the biggest game on consoles and PC but it looks poised to take over the mobile space as well. Starting on Monday, March 12th you'll be able to sign up for the Invite Event on iOS supported devices -- don't worry Android users because you'll be getting support in the coming months. The best part is that this is planned to be the same game you've been playing on other platforms with 100 players diving down to the same map to become the last player standing.
Fortnite Battle Royale - Kidzworld Weekly News
Surprisingly enough, Epic Games also announced Sony's involvement in "Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together." This is really unexpected because up until this point it seemed like Sony was the barrier between Cross-Play with Xbox but this shows the opposite as Xbox wasn't mentioned anywhere in the post outlining the new platform to play.
From over at the website at Epic Games:
"Starting Monday, March 12, sign-up at www.Fortnite.com for the Invite Event on iOS. Email invites will start rolling out soon thereafter. When you are invited, you will receive an email with a link to download the game from the App Store. If you don’t receive an invite right away, don’t worry. We’ll be adding more players regularly over the coming months. Players who receive invites from Epic will also get friend invite codes to share with others. To participate, you will need an internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices."
Black Ops IIII Is Real
First off, Black Ops 4 stylizes its Roman numerals as "IIII" not "IV" so it's not a typo on our end. The game, and logo, have been rumored for a little while especially since the design was showed off on NBA player James Harden's hat before the official announcement today. Not too much of a surprise considering that it was developer Treyarch's turn to release a Call of Duty game and aside from their first entry each of their games have been in the Black Ops series.
Official Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 Teaser
The teaser, which you can see above, doesn't give too much info on what to expect from Black Ops IIII but does focus heavily on the first and second game in the Black Ops line of games. We got a release date of Friday, October 12th, which is a month earlier than the traditional November launch date, and we'll get more info on Thursday, May 17th for the community reveal -- a similar release schedule to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in 2016.
