In video game news this week, we got a chance to check out an early copy of Skylanders SuperChargers, which kind of blew our minds. Facebook has launched a 360 degree video for Star Wars: The Force Awakens that lets you ride across Jakku, and we got our first look at the Angry Birds movie. Check out this week’s video game news below!
Skylanders SuperChargers: We Got to Check Out the Game
We’ve been excited for Skylanders SuperChargers since they announced it a few months back. This week, we got to play with it, as well as preview some of the second wave characters. As you may know, there are new vehicles in the game, including ones for sky, land and sea. Each of the 20 new vehicles still get assigned an element in addition to the one they move in. There are also 20 new Skylander characters to pair with them. While any Skylander works fine with the game, there are pairings that are supercharged. One of the super cool things is the new Skystones Overdrive, an updated version of the mini-game we all love. There is also, for the very first time, a co-op online game. This reviewer has a bit of vertigo when playing racing games (there is definitely a Mario Kart thing going in one of the mini-games), but actually found it really easy to get the hang of. There are several different difficulty levels, so it’s really going to work for all ages. We love that the vehicles are just as cool as toys outside the game, many of them with moving parts. We’re definitely saying this is a must-buy for fans of the earlier incarnations of the game.

The videos were created by Industrial Light & Magic's Experience Lab and it’s letting you speak through Jakku, the planet we find Rey on in the trailer. This one is definitely worth checking out!
