The season finale for "Star Wars Rebels" airs on Monday, March 2nd, 2015 and Kidzworld was lucky enough to chat with director Dave Filoni about it. Fans have gone crazy over the show, but there are some fun facts that even diehard fans might have missed. Did you know that Hera is really the leader of the Ghost crew? Do you know why? What famous Harry Potter star voices The Inquisitor? What connection does Zeb Orrelio have to Chewbacca?
Check out Filoni’s fun facts below and let us know how many you spotted
1. The crew uses “Spectre” code names when operating in public to avoid their identities being discovered by the Empire.
2. The planet Kessel is first mentioned in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, but Rebels marks its first on-screen appearance.
3. The crates the Ghost crew steals are color-coded. The red crates have foodstuffs. The gray crates have blaster rifles.
4. Many actors from the original Star Wars films voice their characters in Rebels (James Earl Jones – Darth Vader, Frank Oz – Yoda, Anthony Daniels – C-3PO, Billy Dee Williams - Lando)
5. Though it appears Kanan is the leader of the Ghost crew, in truth Hera is calling the shots. This misdirect is deliberate. The Empire focused its efforts on Kanan and didn't even know about Hera until "Vision of Hope".
6. In "Spark of Rebellion" we're introduced to Ezra talking over an Imperial comlink and transmitting a message with a selfish goal in mind. Compare that to his transmission in "Call to Action."
7. Hera Syndulla’s father is Twi’lek Cham Syndulla from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
8. The Inquisitor is voiced by Jason Issacs (Lucious Malfoy in the Harry Potter films).
9. The Inquisitor’s species is Pau’an - the same species that assisted Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith
10. Zeb Orrelio’s original design was based off of Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art for Chewbacca in the ’70’s.
