This week on So You Think You Can Dance (Season 10, Week 7), the Top 20 perform for the first time in pairs! Read Kidzworld’s recap of the “The Top 20 Perform,” which aired on June 25th, 2013, to discover what you missed.
Last week we met this season’s Top 20, last night we got to see them perform! The episode began with a group dance, and it even included Mary and Nigel. The dancers have been separated into pairs and have been assigned a specific style of dance.
Memorable Dances
One of the coolest dances of the night was performed by Jasmine Mason and Alan Bersten. They are assigned contemporary dance, and they perform their routine blindfolded (the theme of the dance is that love is blind). The couple is definitely a hit with the audience and the judges.
Jenna Johnson and Tucker Knox are assigned the Broadway-style performance. Their routine involves props like a clothesline and blankets. It is romantic, flirty and very entertaining.
Jasmine Harper and Aaron Turner perform a routine that is just as good as the other two, but much darker. It is in the jazz style and has a very dark, mysterious and sexy feel to it. The judges say they are a power couple.
Room for Improvement
Jive is a style of ballroom that not everyone can do well. Unfortunately, Malece Miller and Jade Zuberi fall into this category. The dance isn’t terrible, but the partnership doesn’t seem to be a big hit.
Alexis Juliano and Nico Greetham are assigned hip hop, but their routine is lacking in that special element that makes dances pop. The audience and the judges both agree it could have been better.
Time to Vote
Next week someone will be going home. The bottom three female dancers and the bottom three male dancers (based on votes) will all be up for elimination.
