This week on So You Think You Can Dance (Season 10, Week 5), everyone heads to Vegas! Read Kidzworld’s recap of the “Vegas Callbacks”, which aired on June 11th, 2013, to discover what you missed.
Vegas
So You Think You Can Dance has hit Vegas, which means it is time for all of the dancers to prove they should be there. 159 dancers have been given a ticket to Vegas, but not all of them will get paired up. The first challenge is a solo dance. If they impress, they will get a room key. If they blow it, they will be sent home.
Day One and Two
Day two is the first round of choreography, and is typically where a lot of dancers first stumble. This season is no exception. Half of the dancers who arrived in Vegas are cut by lunchtime of day two, narrowing the crowd down to less than 100 dancers.
Day Three
Day three has the dancers prove that they can handle somejazz moves. But, not everyone is cut out for this style of dance. 9 more dancers are sent home, which leaves 68 dancers in the competition. Next up? Ballroom dancing. More dancers are sent home before the judges announce one of the most anticipated and stressful parts of Vegas week: group night.
Group Night
Group night can either be really good or really bad for a dancer. At the end of this round there are only 54 dancers, and they all move on to the contemporary dance round. The judges are harder than ever in this round, determined to only let the best dancers through. By the end of the episode there are only 33 dancers left, but of course only 20 can make it onto the show.
