The Bottom Line
One of the best parts of Step Up Revolution in theaters was the in-your-face dance moved that popped in 3D, and now you can have that cinematic experience at home. The romantic plotline of SUP is a little tired, but no one watches a dance movie for the originality, they're all about feeling good and having fun. If you're a devoted watcher of So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew you'll delighted to see cameos by some of fave dancers and choreographers, for example SYTYCD's Twitch and Allison Holker are members of The Mob, and SYTYCD judge and choreographer Mia Michaels takes on the role of the judge and mentor at the prestigious Miami dance company that Emily applies at. Highlights of this movie include the fantastically beautiful and original dance routine in art gallery, where the dancers are hidden in the paintings and then bring the art to life, as well as the dance scene where The Mob is disguised as everyday business people, but quickly show that they can pick up the pace in any given work day, and when the group takes over a fancy restaurant and gives the patrons a meal they'll never forget!
