This week on The Secret Circle (Season 1, Episode 16), Blackwell reveals that there’s more to their star-crossed lovers story, and the town holds a casino charity event! Read the Kidzworld recap of “Lucky”, which aired March 15, 2012, to find out what you missed!
Daddy Dearest
This week Cassie sat down with her new-to-town dad John Blackwell to get to the bottom of why he’s there. He’s regretful about not being there for her all her life, and tells her that dark magic turned him bad all those years ago, but she’s not so concerned for herself, telling him that she has control over it, although he’s not so sure.
When Blackwell leaves he runs into Jake and is impressed by how much Jake seems to care for his daughter? Jake meets up with the rest of the circle at the coffee shop that Cassie works at so they can talk about what’s going on, but after delivering her classic one-liners Faye flounces off to go ask Lee if he’ll go to the Casino charity event in Chance Harbor with her. Adam catch John Blackwell tearing up the clubhouse looking for a “sway”- a witch draining magical instrument which they suspect may have been used in the fire all those years ago.
Casino Kids
Lee has to turn down Faye’s offer because his girlfriend Eva has finally awakened from her coma, and she doesn’t look happy about Lee’s potential dating situation. But Lee turns up at Casino Night anyway looking for Faye and even though there’s a bit of kissing action, Eva comes storming in right after him to break up the make out session and by the end of the episode drains Lee of his power and leaves him for dead.
Faye isn’t the only one who is starting to look outside the circle romantically. Done with pining for Adam, Diana is wooed by a hot (and cultured!) [kwlink 26613]Australian[/kwlink] guy, Grant, who turns up at Casino Night to win her a stuffed monkey and walks her home. After being a true gentleman and draping a coat over her shoulders, he leans in and lays a kiss on Diana that she won’t soon forget!
Cassie and Adam get into a fight after she tells him she suspects that his dad, Ethan, may have been involved in the fire. Adam takes off hurt and angry and Cassie confides in Jake who immediately passes the info along to Blackwell.
Star Crossed Lovers
Faye spilt to her mom that Blackwell was back in town, but when she tries to get Blackwell to join her evil plans he tells her “no” in no uncertain terms. Cassie spots Ethan stabbing her dad in the parking lot – cue chase scene! Cassie uses her immense power to flick on the lights across the football field and save her dad by uprooting the school bleachers and knocking Ethan over. In a man-to-man chat where Ethan drowns his sorrows with alcohol he admits to Blackwell that he was the one working with the witch hunters all along because he believed because that he and Amelia should be together because the legend saying their families were “written in the stars”. Blackwell breaks it to him that it is actually a curse and should never be fulfilled – too bad they decide to keep each other’s secrets, because Adam and Cassie are making out by the end of the episode and the creepy crows watching them are more than a clue to the audience that things might go terribly wrong.
