It’s a new month and March is everyone’s favorite time of the year. The NHL and NBA playoffs are approaching and every game is a crucial two points. And of course it’s March Madness, the most exciting sports tournament full of single game knockouts, Cinderella stories and last second buzzers beaters. Here is Kidzworld’s March 2012 Sports Preview!
Brian's Blues
Everybody has been talking about the NHL’s top four powerhouse teams… the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins, but slowly sneaking up as a surprising dominating team in the NHL are the St. Louis Blues! The Blues play the Canucks on March 1st and the winner will be the #1 team in the NHL. The Blues have the best defense in the League led by star goalie Brian Elliot so it should be a low scoring game.
Thunder Showdowns
In the NBA, there are quite a few teams that seem like they could have a shot for the big prize, but Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder stands as the League’s best team right now. This month is a good test for Kevin and the Thunder as they are scheduled to play last year’s champs the Dallas Mavericks on March 5th, the Miami Heat on March 25th.
March Madness
This year’s 2012 March Madness Final Four tournament is set for a Mardi Gras party in New Orleans. The bracket will be set in the first couple of weeks as usual, then you fill out your bracket on March 15th as 64 teams play in the largest single-game knockout tourney in the world.
Baseball Begins

- Matt Kemp – LA Dodgers
- Albert Pujols – California Angels
- Jose Bautista – Toronto Blue Jays
