Leaving Town
On the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, we witnessed the long-anticipated kiss between Elena and Damon. This week, Elena takes out her frustration and inner turmoil on her punching bag. She reveals to Bonnie that Damon compelled Jeremy to leave town. Even though she believes it’s for his own good, Bonnie thinks it's wrong to take away his choices.
18th Birthday Party
Elena, Bonnie and Matt plan a surprise 18thbirthday party for Caroline. But when she arrives home, she’s not in the party spirit. Celebrating a birthday doesn’t mean anything now that she’s technically dead. So instead of a birthday party, they go to the cemetery and have a funeral.
The Better Villain
Stefan refuses to return Klaus’s coffins, so their battle rages on. Annoyed by his hybrids, Stefan demands that Klaus send them out of town. When he refuses, Stefan decides to remove them for him. Klaus threatens Stefan’s loved ones. Stefan retaliates by threatening to kill Elena, just to prove that he really has gone off the deep end, and that he is the better villain. He kidnaps Elena and speeds over the same bridge that her parents died on.
Kiss of Death
Meanwhile, Tyler defies Klaus by refusing to bite Caroline because he knows it would kill her. But when he meets up with her at the cemetery to declare his love, they share a deadly kiss. Tyler accidently bites Caroline. Matt carries Caroline home, where she lays bedridden, her wound slowly growing. But she’s saved when Klaus arrives and lets her feed off of his blood.
