British hip-hop/pop duo Rizzle Kicks are already making a name for themselves in the U.K and are set to explode into the mainstream with their catchy songs and cheeky lyrics that hark back to the golden age of hip hop. Find out how more about how this duo got their start in their Kidzworld Bio!
Mini Musicians
Jordan Stevens, also known as Rizzle and Harley Alexander-Sule, known as Sylvester, first met when they were very young. They used to play together at Rizzle’s Aunt’s house when they were young kids, but little did they know in the future they wouldn’t just play, they would also play music together.
Singing and School
Rizzle and Sylvester went years without seeing each other, until one day they found themselves facing one another on opposite teams during a soccer match. They had both just moved to Brighton, England, and quickly became friends again. Four years later they both attended The BRIT School, which has turned out famous British talents like singers Leona Lewis and Adele. Rizzle was already rapping overtop of songs and making his own mixtape and one day invited Sylvester to sing over the top of track with him. they both instantly realized how well their sounds went together, and decided to become Rizzle Kicks.
Down With the Trumpets
After forming the group, the duo worked hard at getting fresh beats from producers so that they could make their own sound and craft their own songs, and before they knew their second ever single, "Down With The Trumpets", was climbing the U.K. charts up to the number 8 spot, wowing everyone with their revamped retro hip hop sound. Their debut album Stereo Typical will be released this October, and Rizzle Kicks hope to do an extensive tour afterward.
