American Idol Season 10 Auditions :: January 26

Jan 26, 2010

This week on American Idol Season 10, the judges headed to Milwaukee to find fresh faces and fresh talent. It seems like there is a surplus of amazing voices this year, and it’s mostly thanks to the new age requirements. The 15 year olds are knocking the socks of the judges. It would be no surprise if this season’s winner was the youngest in Idol history.

Audition #3: Milwaukee

There were a lot of memorable auditions in Milwaukee, including 16 year old Scotty McCreery which an unusually deep voice and a solid country twang. Another was 15 year old Thia Megia who sang Chasing Pavement by Adele. She had a great voice and, even though she’s Asian, she bore a striking resemblance to Miley Cyrus. And how can you compete with Molly DeWolf Swensen, the tall, blond Harvard graduate who is currently interning at the White House? Oh, and did I mention she has a great voice? She has so much going for her. Why not leave the talent competitions to those who have nothing else?

A Tragic Story

Last to audition was 26 year old Chris Medina. His emotional story was sure to bring most viewers to tears. Two years after getting engaged and just a few short months away from a wedding, Chris’s fiancée was in a terrible accident leaving her with serious brain damage. Even though their lives have changed forever, Chris has stuck it out. He sang with so much heart and passion it brought tears to J-Lo’s eyes.

Audition #4: Nashville

The Nashville auditions didn't offer as much jaw-dropping talent as the previous cities. But a few singers did stand out, including Chelsee and Rob, an ex-couple who auditioned together. Separately, they sang well enough to put them through, but together their voices sounded like one. The last to audition in Nashville was 15 year old Lauren who became an instant favorite with the judges. Steven Tyler even mentioned that she could win the whole competition. Perhaps he's getting a little too ahead of himself.
