Whether you like volley ball or log cutting, Deca Sports 3 is sure to satisfy any sports fan. Check out Kidzworld’s review.

Deca Sports 3 is just what it is advertised as: a sports game for the Wii. This updated version of Deca Sports and Deca Sports 2 features 10 sporting activities that players can participate in, either individually or in teams. The sports include volleyball, racquetball, lacrosse, giant slalom, kayak slalom, halfpipe, springboard diving, fencing, air racing and log cutting. Players can choose from a preselected team or create their own team with the Team Editor.

Motion Control

The controls for the sporting games are fairly basic and quite similar to those used in Wii Sports. Unfortunately, the player needs to return to the main menu in order to get a tutorial. This can be disruptive if one just needs the instructions to a particular event. Deca Sports 3 has also added the option of using Wii Motion Plus, which can be selected in Master Mode. When this is selected the difficulty of the controls are greatly increased.

As can be expected, some of the games were more enjoyable than others. Volleyball was easy to pick up and had very simple controls (simply hit the ball by swinging the remote) while Racquetball was not only frustrating but also boring.

Verdict

The highlight of Deca Sports 3 is that there are 10 decent sports-themed mini games all in one place. This is the perfect game to pull out on a Sunday afternoon with the family, as the game is much more enjoyable when played with others. If you already have Wii Sports this game is probably not worth buying, but if you are in the market for a basic sports game it is worth checking out.
