Keep up-to-date with all the latest video game releases! Kidzworld has all the latest games to keep watch for. This week, we preview Kirby's Epic Yarn, DJ Hero 2, and Power Gig!
Kirby's Epic Yarn
It's been a while since we've seen Kirby in his own platformer, but Kirby's Epic Yarn is finally here this week, and the developers have stitched in some interesting new gameplay tweaks. Dream Land is under attack by Yin-Yarn, a new baddie who brings Kirby to a new dimension made of nothing but sewing materials (giving the game its awesome look). Though Kirby's in an unfamiliar environment, he quickly finds out how to transform his yarn shape into any of many forms, including a car, rocket, or dolphin, during the game, using new gameplay mechanics. The rest of the time, Kirby keeps up his typical floating platforming action along with a new whip of sorts to take down enemies.
DJ Hero 2
DJ Hero gave gamers a special opportunity to hear mixes of two songs put together that were really creative and interesting, sometimes even better than the individual songs themselves. This time around, in DJ Hero 2, the mixes are sometimes combined into Megamixes, six songs put together two at a time to make a really unique DJ set. New song sections also let you freestyle more, uh, freely, so you can choose how to crossfade and scratch rather than just following the course.
Power Gig
Power Gig: Rise of the SixString is a new Guitar Hero/Rock Band-style rhythm game with a focus on more realistic guitar playing and quieter motion-sensor drums. The game can either be played normal Guitar Hero-style with five colored frets or you can up the difficulty by having to play specific strings for each note on the special bundled six-string guitar that's almost like a real guitar. The game's drums sit flat on the floor and sense your drumming motions over it, keeping your real-world drumming quiet while you jam in-game.
