Flames on Fire
The Calgary Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs were two teams that did not make the playoffs last year. This year they rank #1 and #2 in the NHL pre-season. The Flames are undefeated with a 5-0-0 record and the Leafs are 4-0-1. It’s been almost 20 years since a Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup… is this finally the year that the Cup comes back to Canada?
Steelers Stealing the Show
The Pittsburgh Steelers are the talk of the NFL. Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t even played a game yet and the Steelers are 3-0 and scoring lots of points. What will happen when Big Bad Ben returns? Will he add to the point-scoring machine or will he break up the chemistry? This weekend the Steelers play the biggest game of the week against the Baltimore Ravens.
1 More Giant Win
The San Fransico Giants have almost locked a playoff spot in the Major League Baseball race. The final series against the San Diego Padres will end this Sunday and all they need is one win to clinch a spot.
Golden Boot Glory
Lionel Messi won the Golden Boot award after finishing his soccer season with 34 goals for Barcelona last season. All those goals helped Barcelona win the Spanish La Liga title. Now Lionel has won all three major individual awards for soccer:

James’ 1st Games
This upcoming Tuesday marks Lebron James’ first game as a Miami Heat player. The game is in Miami versus the Detroit Pistons. It’s only a pre-season game but it sure will be cool to see how Lebron is welcomed in Miami. Make sure to check it out!
