This week on So You Think You Can Dance season 6, the top 12 dancers fought for a spot in the top 10 by performing in two different dance styles.
Ellenore and Ryan performed an energetic Lindy Hop and a Broadway routine about the temptation of fame. The judges loved both performances, and Mary said that Frankie Manning, one of the creators of the Lindy Hop, would have been very proud of their performance.
Kathryn and Legacy performed a playful Jazz routine and a Viennese Waltz. While the Waltz was rockier than the Jazz routine, the judges were still impressed with the weekly growth.
Karen and Victor opened with an electrifying Tango, which had a chemistry and precision of movement that impressed the judges to no end. Unfortunately, Nigel didn’t have anything positive to say about their Hip-Hop routine that followed.
Mollee and Nathan performed a Hip-Hop routine about the day Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, followed by an energetic Can-Can. Both performances were a little shaky because of Mollee’s injured ankle. But overall, the judges gave positive feedback.
Noelle and Russell opened with a not-so-steamy Samba. But they more than made up for it with their beautiful Contemporary routine, which Adam Shankman called his favorite piece of the night.
Ashleigh and Jakob performed Lyrical Jazz, stunning the judges and rendering Adam Shankman speechless. Next, Jakob joined Ashleigh’s ballroom dancing world when they performed the Cha-Cha. Fortunately, Jakob held his own on the dance floor.
America voted and this week’s bottom three couples were Karen and Victor, Mollee and Nathan, and Ellenore and Ryan. After the season’s toughest deliberation, Karen and Victor were sent home. Next week the original couples split up, making way for new couples and new chemistry.
