There’s been a lot mixed opinions about Marapets, a virtual pet website almost identical to Neopets. Some call a cheaper knockoff of Neopets, but despite the similarities, Marapets offers some fun advantages.
Similarities
These are some of the most obvious similarities between Marapets and Neopets. Both sites let you:
create pets using the same four colors (red, blue, green and yellow)
adopt or disown pets
style your pets with themed clothing or colors
train your pets for battle
build homes for your pets
play games for points
buy and sell through an auction
sell items through your shop
explore a world of different lands
invest in the stock market
send mail and make friends
pay real money to access extra site functions
Human Character
One great feature that only Marapets has is the human characters called dolls. You can create your own doll and style him or her with different hairdos, facial features, skin colors, clothes, shoes and accessories. You can even create a doll based on 12 different celebrity styles, including Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and more. Use your marapoints to shop for outfits, or buy coupons for a trip to the salon or plastic surgeon!
Pros of Marapets
You can score 1500 marapoints per game (Neopets caps you at 1000)
You can own up to 12 different pets at once (Neopets limits you to 4)
Pets can get full time or part time jobs
Shops restock faster than Neopets’ shops
Shop items are listed alphabetically instead of randomly
Under "Shops", you'll find a list of all the shops and quests
Lots of easy quests and missions
Cons of Marapets
More technical problems with sending your game scores
Poorer quality graphics
More ads getting in the way
Games aren’t as fun or challenging
You have to enter a security code every time you buy something and finish a quest
