The other racers are a hoot!

Go fast with the new Speed Racer game – based on the upcoming movie! Here’s our review of the Car-Fu stunt racing action.
Speed Racer started out as a cartoon dozens of years ago but now the classic racing hero is coming back in a major way! The Speed Racer movie is on the way and looking like a candy-cane for your eyes and the game is already here for Wii and DS. With 20 cars, extreme speed, Car-Fu action, stunt racing and more, it's time to go fast with Gary's Speed Racer game review.
Go Speed Racer, Go!
Speed Racer lets you hop into the driver's seat of one of the cars from the movie and go screaming through crazy tracks, over jumps and even into a volcano! It's also full of weird extras - from rotating tires that let you drive at full speed while facing sideways, to Jump Jacks that let you hop around the track and the infamous Car-Fu - crazy moves that let you spin, flip and slam your car into the competition. The faster you go, and the more damage you cause, the more Boost you earn - letting you jump ahead when you need to, repair your car, or enter Zone mode with four charges and become invincible!Speed, Stunts, Sass!
The cars look fantastic, the racing is fun, Car-Fu lets you smash the bejeebers out of the competition and the racers are hilarious! From taunts to teases, everybody has something to say about what's going on and they're a lot of fun - especially the crazy viking who keeps screaming about monkeys in your pants! The Ally/Rival system that lets you team up with other racers and score bonus Boost for smacking your rivals around is fun too, although it can make pulling Car-Fu moves tricky.No Speed Racer, No!
Speed Racer is a racing game with some neat twists, but those run out of steam pretty quick and Car-Fu slows you down and can leave you spinning out at the side of the track! There aren't many game options either, not even a gallery to let you check out the drivers and their cars. Finally, there's no movie plot to follow, so you miss the drama and excitement of the film.The Checkered Flag!
Speed Racer is a classic popcorn game. It's light, fluffy and a blast while it lasts. Unfortunately, after a few hours of racing fun you'll have blown through most of the tracks, the other racers will start getting annoying and you'll be ready to move on. Watch the movie, rent the game!Thumbs Up:
