Career
Simon Dumont began skiing at the age of three. When he was 16 years old, Simon was already a world-class skier and participated in his first X-Games, where he finished 16th in the skiing slopestyle. His breakthrough came in 2004, when he won the superpipe in the X-Games. He has medaled in the event every year since the 2004 Games. In 2007, Simon won the superpipe at the Honda Ski Tour as well as placed second in the in the slopestyle at the Orage European Open. He also medaled in three straight big air events including the Freestyle.Ch, the Icer Air and the King of Style.Riding Style
Simon Dumont is considered to be an innovator in the freeskiing movement. He is hands down one of the best superpipe riders out there. Simon is also known for his fearless and creative riding style. Aside from competitions, he has appeared in several ski films where he routinely performs tricks like the 540 and 1260. While filming a ski video in Utah in 2004, Simon suffered one of the worst wipeouts you will ever witness. After going too fast approaching the jump, he lost control and fell nearly 80 feet.
