Gonna be spending Christmas at home? Here are five good sports games you should check out after you are finished opening your gifts!
#5 Purdue vs. Central Michigan
Technically, this game in not on Christmas, but the day after. However, since you're not in school anyway you might as well catch this good college football game. The Purdue Boilermakers take on the Central Michigan Chippewas in Detroit for the Motor City Bowl. Purdue finished the season 7-5 while Central Michigan had an 8-5 record. It will be tough for the Broilermakers who lost their last three games, whereas the Chippewas go into the game on a four-game winning streak. The game takes place on December, 26 at 7:30PM ET on ESPN.
#4 Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Sure, the Miami Heat have had a rough season, but that doesn't mean you should not try to catch this game. You can bet Shaq and Dwyane Wade will be pumped up to play LeBron and company. Cleveland has also been on a nasty losing streak, so both teams will be trying hard to get this victory! This game is an early one - it is on Christmas Day at 2:30PM ET on ABC.
#3 Seattle Supersonics vs. Portland Trailblazers
This match-up might be the Western Conference rivalry of the future. Kevin Durant of the Seattle Supersonics has potential to be the next Tracy McGrady and the Portland Trailblazers have a great team this year and will be even better down the road. Brandon Roy and LeMarcus Aldridge are the Blazers main stars, although the future of their team, Greg Oden, is injured for the season. You can catch this game on ESPN at 8PM ET on Christmas night.
#2 Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers
Unfortunately there will be no NFL games played on Christmas Day, but there will be a game on Christmas Eve between the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers are coming off of a four-game winning streak and are looking to try to get back to the Super Bowl. You can also count on Ladainian Tomlinson having a big night for this Monday night game. You can catch LT and the Chargers at 8PM ET on ESPN on December 24.
#1 Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers
A premier matchup between two of the best teams in the Western Conference. With Steve Nash having another MVP caliber season, the Suns are arguably the favorites to win the title. The Lakers have also been making some noise as of late because of the strong play of Kobe Bryant. This should be a very close game especially since it will be in the Lakers' home at Staples Center. The game will be on Christmas Day at 5PM ET on ABC - make sure to mark you calendars!
