Dr. Seuss classic childrens book, The Cat in the Hat, has been adapted into a big screen movie this holiday season. Catch Mike Myers, Dakota Fanning, Sean Hayes and many more in Dr. Seuss The Cat in the Hat!

If you're still stuck in that phase where you think all picture books are for babies, this is the time to snap out of it. Once again, the peeps from Universal Studios are bringing one of Dr. Seuss' classics to the big screen - this time starring funnyman, Mike Myers. Hold on to your hat, cuz this movie's going to be big.

The Cat in the Hat - Dr. Seuss Spins a Tale

Thanks to a man named Dr. Seuss, children for generations have been enjoying classic tales of mischief and make-believe. We've enjoyed them so much in fact, that we've taken to making them into movies. This holiday season you'll have the chance to catch The Cat in the Hat in all its live-action glory. Mike Myers plays the part of the giant cat who shows up one day to bring a little fun into the lives of Sally (Dakota Fanning) and Conrad (Spencer Breslin). While their mom is at work, Sally and Conrad get roped into creating the mess of all messes with the cat - despite warnings from their trusty pet fish.

The Cat in the Hat - Feline Fun

If it's not enough that The Cat in the Hat is now in movie form, then perhaps the comic stylings of Mike Myers will peak your interest. He made ya laugh as the suave, 70s, swingin' spy, Austin Powers, and now you're in for some more laughs as he dons a suit of a different kind. The special effects people for The Cat in the Hat deserve big props for their hard work in this flick. Some of you may not even recognize Mike in his furry get-up! And Mike Myers' cat suit wasn't the only impressive thing in the flick. The Cat set was phenomenal - all in that classic, exaggerated Seuss style.

The Cat in the Hat - Hair Balls

You're not going to walk away from this film unhappy but you may be a bit dissatisfied with the performances of some of the cast members. It's not that everyone doesn't do a good job, they just can't really compete with Mike Myers. He is one funny dude, and it's hard for the other characters to pull off that same level of energy. That aside, there's not much more about this movie to complain about.

The Cat in the Hat - Bottom Line

Grab your mom, dad, brother, sister or anyone else you can convince to see this flick with you. Not only is The Cat in the Hat visually appealing, it has a great cast, great lines and even some up-beat tunes to sing along to (thanks to bands like [kwlink]Smash Mouth[/kwlink]). You've heard it before, but this time it's true - if you only see one movie this holiday season, see The Cat in the Hat. It has something for everyone - guaranteed.
