Everybody knows Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and Maggie. What about the rest of the people of Springfield? Everybody's favorite animated town is full of quirky people who add funnies to the episodes without being the stars. Here's some info on a few of the lesser-known Springfielders:
The Simpsons' Ralph Wiggums
At age eight, Ralph Wiggums is the weird kid that makes everyone laugh. Everything he says makes him sound like he's from another planet. His hobbies include picking his nose ("The doctor said I wouldn't have so many nose bleeds if I kept my finger outta there"), eating paste and discovering things ("My cat's breath smells like cat food"). He has a cat called Mittens that nobody's ever seen, and is friends with an imaginary person named Wiggle Puppy and a leprechaun that tells him to burn things. He's a nice kid but he has a faulty brain.
The Simpsons' Nelson Muntz
Nelson Munts is the creator of the infamous "Ha-ha" laugh and the head of the schoolyard bullies - Jimbo, Kearny and Dolph. He's someone to be feared and a pain in the butt for any kid with lunch money. His only weakness is girls - he won't fight them and neither will his bully buddies. He even gave Lisa Simpson her first kiss.
The Simpsons' Krusty The Clown
Some advice for you - if you see Krusty do something, don't do it. Krusty has a hot show, thousands of adoring fans and tons of money - but he's a mess. He drinks, smokes, gambles, lies, cheats and steals. His ex-sidekick is trying to kill him, his ex-girlfriend wants him dead and all he wants is to have a good time. A pacemaker and Bart Simpson's watchful eye keep the Krustmeister ticking as he stumbles his way through life.
The Simpsons' Groundskeeper Willie
A Scotsman with a kilt, an attitude and a lawn mower. Willie tends to the Springfield Elementary school with a vengeance. Willie's taken on every task from wrestling a huge wolf to squeezing through the school ventilation system wearing nothing but his underwear and grease. Oh yeah, Willie's got a pretty nasty little habit... he likes to videotape his neighbors. Maybe they should have deported this peeping tom when they had the chance.
