Danny Way made skateboarding history on July 9, 2005, when he jumped over the Great Wall of China on his skateboard. Danny Way holds the world record for longest distance jumped on a skateboard at 79 feet, which he set at the Big Air event at the [KWLINK 5179[b]2004 X Games. He also holds the record for height out of a ramp on a skateboard at 23.5 feet, which he set while flying of his newly designed Mega Ramp in 2003. When he jumped over the Great Wall of China, Danny broke the world skateboarding records for distance, height out of the quarter pipe and speed. Danny built a structure around 120 feet high, with a roll in of 75 feet. This massive ramp is likely the largest skate structure ever built.

Wearing an aerodynamic suit and helmet, Gary Hardwick made skateboarding history by reaching a speed of nearly 63 miles (100 km) per hour during a race at Fountain Hills, Arizona on September 26, 1998.
Skateboarding Records - Rocket-Powered Skateboard
Billy Copeland slapped eight jetpacks of fuel onto the back of his modified skateboard and blasted off at a record 70 miles (112 km) per hour on May 15, 1998. Billy's board didn't have any brakes when he made skateboarding history. He strapped a scrap of radial tire on to his running shoe and slammed his shoe down when he reached the end of his run.

Besides making the coolest skateboard video games and pulling off the sickest skateboard tricks, Tony Hawk also holds one of the most amazing world records. Tony made skateboarding history by becoming the first skater to land a 900 at the 1999 X Games. That's two and a half rotations in mid-air!
