(2002) Columbia

Yay! Spider-Man swings into theaters on May 3, 2002. What kind of tunes can you expect in the Spider-Man movie starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst? Mostly heavy rock tracks - perfect for swinging, spinning webs, jumping, crawling and, of course, fighting the Green Goblin.

The Spider-Man soundtrack kicks off with the old-skool theme song from the animated series, which may be new to a lot of peeps. Then it's packed with webslingin' rock tracks by Sum 41, Alien Ant Farm, Default and Greenwheel, to name a few. The Strokes sing When It Started, a tune with some very cool guitar action. The Hives sing a thrashy tune called Hate to Say I Told You So which kind of sounds a bit like the punk band, The Ramones. Jerry Cantrell rocks out on She Was My Girl. Uh-oh, does this mean Spidey gets the girl and loses the girl?

Spider-Man is not just an action flick though, it's a romance too. Don't forget Peter Parker/Spidey is crushin' on Mary Jane Watson so they've added some candle light tracks too - songs by Pete Yorn and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.

Aerosmith puts a new spin on an old web with an updated, heavier version of the Theme From Spider-Man. It kicks Green Goblin's butt! The Spider-Man soundtrack is as cool as being bit by a radioactive spider!
