Well, well, well. It seems that Wizards and its ingenious card creators have outdone themselves again. Torment, the latest set of Magic: the Gathering collectible cards, will change the world of Magic.
In the past three Magic: the Gathering sets there have been three new powers:
Kicker, which is like going to McDonalds and having your meal super-sized.
Flashback that lets you re-use a card from the discard pile.
And finally...
Threshold, which powers up your cards if you have seven or more cards in your discard pile.
I think
Threshold is cool because a lot of your opponent's discarded tactics now give you an advantage.
I tried out some Torment cards the other day and was blown away by the ingenuity of the new set. It's full of cards that have the powers of Madness and Nightmare.
Madness allows you to cast cards cheaply when they're discarded. Like the cool Basking Rootwalla, which you can use Madness to cast for 0 Mana - it's totally free!
There are also the dreaded Nightmare creatures. They're totally cool because when they come into play, they drain your opponent's cards and points and let you beat on your enemy.
In my opinion, Magic: the Gathering's Torment set is on par with the ever-expanding Magic world. Who knows what they'll think up next?
