Lifehouse Gets Its Start
When Jason Wade was 15 years old, he moved with his mom from Washington to Los Angeles where he met his next door neighbor, Sergio Andrade. They began hangin' out and jamming in the garage while Jason worked on his songwriting skills. The pair hooked up with a drummer (who is no longer in the band) and after a few months, the guys started taking advantage of jam time that was offered Friday nights at a local school auditorium. Back then, the band went by the name of Blyss and played at the auditorium for two years. Word-of-mouth about the band spread to producer Ron Aniello.
Lifehouse's Big Break
The former drummer was replaced by Rick Woolstenhulme, and the trio rehearsed and played gigs while Jason Wade continued perfecting his songwriting skills. Two years later, Lifehouse played a song called Breathing for the producer, which led to a contract with DreamWorks RecordsNo Name Face, under the name Lifehouse. The CD spawned a number one hit with Hanging By A Moment.

Lifehiouse Says...
