Nintendos biggest star, Mario, is doing his thing on the Game Boy Advance. The digital superstar is up against villains, obstacles and giant turnips. Turnips?! Check in here for more info.
Super Mario Advance packs two games into one. You get a remake of Super Mario 2 and the original Mario Brothers arcade game. Super Mario 2 isn't like any other Mario game. Rather than jumping on bad guys, fighting Bowser and collecting coins, you pick up & throw bad guys, hurl veggies and fight a big boss named Wort. It's totally different from every other Mario game and it's the coolest thing you can do with a turnip the size of your head.
Super Mario Advance Game Basics
You get to choose your fave hero to play the levels. Mario, Luigi, a little mushroom dude and the Princess are all ready to kick some butt. There's no sign of Yoshi though, he didn't join Mario and crew until a later game. Each character plays differently - the trick is knowing which one is best for which level.Super Mario Advance Good Stuff
The graphics are totally solid, some snazzy new effects show off what the Game Boy Advance (GBA) can do but nothing really blows you out of the water. The sounds are decent and the action is solid. It gets crazy hard near the end but it's fun all the way.
Super Mario Advance Multiplayer Fun!
The oldschool arcade is a blast cuz you can hook up four GBA's together with only one copy of the game. Once you're wired up you can play the old Mario Bros. Arcade game. Get four players together and it's a blast!
Super Mario Advance Final Word!
Super Mario Advance is a good start for Nintendo. It's not gonna rock your world but it's solid action all the way through.
Are the controls hard to learn?
Nope - they're easy.
How Hard is Super Mario Advance?
