Madonna kicked off her Drowned World Tour with a sold out show in Barcelona Spain, NSYNC hits the b-ball court for a good cause and Christina Aguilera pays tribute to diva Whitney Houston.

1Madonna's music made the people come together for a sold out show in Barcelona, Spain. The 42 year-old performed her first show of the Drowned World Tour for 18, 000 screaming fans. She opened the show with Drowned World/Substitute For Love and during the show the Material Girl changed outfits six times, rode a mechanical bull (yee-ha!) and showed off some of her karate kid moves.

Backed by 10 dancers and two backup singers, Madonna performed 22 songs - mostly material from her last two albums Music and Ray of Light. As far as old-school Madonna tunes, there were only a few like Holiday and La Isla Bonita. There was no Material Girl, Like A Virgin, Papa Don't Preach or even Like a Prayer. During the elaborate show Madonna and her dancers flew around on wires. Flashy laser lights provided some nice visuals and at one point the lasers beamed out of the dancers' helmets. The Drowned World Tour is one of the hottest shows this summer and tickets are selling for up to $1000 on Ebay.

1Lady Marmalade Christina Aguilera, will perform a duet with singer Luther Vandross to honor soul sister Whitney Houston at the first Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards. Whitney will be awarded the first BET Lifetime Achievement Award and she'll pick the song that Christina and Luther will perform. Whitney also plans to join in on another tune. The ceremony will be held in Las Vegas on June 19, 2001 at the Paris Hotel. Other performers include Destiny's Child, Eve and Gwen Stefani, Usher, Outkast, Missy Elliot, Sisqo and Lil' Bow Wow.

1*NSYNC, Britney Spears and NBA stars Elton Brand and Tracy McGrady are hoopin' it up for the third annual Challenge For The Children Celebrity Skills Challenge and Basketball Game. The two star studded teams will go head-to-head for a game of b-ball, a slam dunk and a three-point shot challenge. The event will also include sumo wrestling, relay races and other non-basketball games. The Challenge For The Children event takes place in Las Vegas from July 28 - 29, 2001. Who wouldn't pay for a good cause and to see *NSYNC running around all sweaty in their gym shorts?! The day before (July 27) *NSYNC performs at Las Vegas' Sam Boyd Stadium.
