Christian Kane: Southern Boy
As a kid, Christian Kane moved around the southern states a lot because his dad, Mike, was in the oil business. Christian said that growing up, movies and movie theatres were his best friends. Christian Kane loved films and decided after seeing the Tom Cruise fighter pilot movie Top Gun that he wanted to be an actor. After dropping out of the University of Oklahoma, Kane headed to Hollywood. Christian Kane worked as a production assistant and in the mailroom of a talent agency to pay his way.
Christian Kane's First Gigs
In 1997, Christian Kane's dreams started coming true - he snagged the lead role in a new TV series Fame L.A.. The show wasn't a huge hit and was cancelled after 22 episodes. But Kane landed another lead in Rescue 77. The show was about paramedics but it didn't do well either and was also cancelled.
Christian Kane's No Angel
Christian Kane auditioned for the role of Riley on Buffy the Vampire Slayer but his friend Marc Blucas got it instead. Obviously Joss thought that Christian Kane had something and he cast Christian as evil lawyer boy Lindsey McDonald in Angel. The role was only reoccuring (meaning Kane wasn't a permanent part of the cast,) but it was extremely popular. As Lindsey, Christian Kane was able to show the world how good he is at being bad. It must have paid off because Christian Kane was also cast as a Gretchen's two-timing ex-boyfriend, Nick Taylor in another WB hit, Dawson's Creek.
Christian Kane the Movie Star
While still working on Angel, Christian Kane got another break when Justin Timberlake backed out of a role in an MTV movie opposite singer/actress Monica. The network needed someone who could both sing and act. Christian Kane, who is also lead singer in the LA band, Kane, fit the bill. The role was well received and opened the door to big screen flicks.
Since then, Christian Kane's made a successful jump into feature films. He hit the baseball field in 2001 with Summer Catch (co-starring Freddie Prinze Jr.) and again in 2002 in Life or Something Like It as Angelina Jolie's big league fiance. His biggest big screen role to date is as Peter Prentis, Brittany Murphy's ex-boyfriend in the 2003 release, Just Married.
