So ya dig sports but need some help with your game? Don't understand some of the rules of football, basketball or hockey? Got a gripe about P.E. class, skateboarders, cheerleading, coaches, or anything? Why not ?
Hey Coach,I think I suck in all sports! In tennis nobody gives the ball to me cuz I'm weak. Same thing in soccer and in basketball cuz I'm short! Nobody passes anything to me! The only thing I'm good at is swimming but I think I'm slow. What should I do? The tests are on their way and I have no time to play sports!

Hey Zain Bond,
You don't have to be an all-star to enjoy sports! As long as you're out there enjoying yourself and staying active, that's all that matters. One thing I've learned in all my years of watching and playing sports is you have to have confidence. I once heard a quote "If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will." - that quote hits the nail on the head. You have to believe that you can help a team and that you have the ability to improve. People usually quit when they don't believe they can do something. Being short has nothing to do with your athleticism. If that was the case, Allen Iverson and Freddy Adu would be unemployed! I don't mean to go all Dr. Phil on ya, but you need a positive attitude and stop looking down on yourself. If swimming is something you enjoy and want to keep doing, you have to stick with it. It takes a lot of practice, plus the right coaching. Don't be afraid to ask coaches or friends for tips and advice. Even Tiger Woods needed someone to teach him how to swing a golf club at some point in time!
As far as your studies go, remember that your education is your number one priority. School comes first - but that doesn't mean you have to spend 24 hours in the library. Make sure you make time for sports, whether that's swimming, tennis, soccer or basketball. Your health is very important, so you must exercise at least 30 minutes a day. So, if you work on your self-esteem and swimming technique for the next month, I guarantee you will see a big difference in your results!
Do you need tips or advice on sports, fitness or health? to the Kidzworld Coach. Keep in mind peeps, the Kidzworld Coach isn't a doctor or a professional athlete or anything like that. He's just a dude who digs sports, plays 'em and knows a lot about 'em. You should always talk to your 'rents, a doctor or your school gym teacher before starting a new sport or a new exercise.
